When a patient with a personal injury legal case is treated by a healthcare provider in Gain’s network, we pay the provider for the patient’s medical treatment. Gain is paid back from the proceeds of the personal injury settlement.

The first step is signing up to use the Gain Platform and agree to be listed on the provider map for attorneys. Preferred providers are those that regularly treat personal injury patients, have a reputation in the network, quickly accept treatment requests and reliably provide medical records.
Through the Gain Platform you can request transportation for patients as part of their personal injury treatment plan. You can also request a prescription card for your client to cover the cost of related medication.
We add new providers to our map regularly. If you see a provider listed for a specific state or area, we encourage you to contact your case manager at Gain. We’re here to help you make the connections you need.
- Preferred providers are those we know accept personal injury patients that we have an established relationship with, who quickly accept treatment requests and reliably provide medical records.
- Gain providers are those who have been verified to accept letter of protection (LOP) agreements and have worked with us in the past.
- Other providers are those who are not verified as accepting LOPs, but may be a good option if we don’t have a provider in a particular coverage area. Our case managers will contact them to discuss getting your plaintiff scheduled.

You can request a plaintiff cash advance through the Gain Platform for non-recourse pre-settlement funding. Our team will evaluate the case and reach an approval decision quickly, typically within 24 hours.
At Gain, we fund almost all types of cases. Typically, we will fund any case with proven negligence, compelling liability, a defendant with an established ability to pay a potential settlement and appropriate damages documentation.
Because our advances are issued against a legal case, you must be represented by an attorney. If you don’t have an attorney we can suggest attorneys that you can contact and choose from.
No, our cash advances are not loans, it is an advance against a pending lawsuit settlement. You will only pay the funds back if and when you win a settlement. If your case is lost and/or you fail to see an award, you can keep the money and no repayment is required.
We typically approve our clients for 10% to 15% of their estimated award amount. We’ve found that this amount of money is appropriate to allow our customers to pay their urgent expenses and bills while still providing them with a considerable award if and when their case is settled.
The process of gathering information takes only a few minutes. We typically review your case and approve an advance within 24 hours. If there are circumstances that prevent approval in that amount of time, we will contact you.
