Founded in 2010, AHF set out with the belief that everyone, regardless of background or income, should have the power of choice when it comes to reliable, uninterrupted financing. By bridging the gap between quality patient care and financial risk, AHF established itself as one of the leading Financers of Medical Liens in the United States.
Gain, which began in 2011 as Cherokee Funding, has always aimed to provide financial options to personal injury victims while they await settlement. In 2016, Gain expanded its services to connect these individuals with providers willing to offer necessary care, aligning perfectly with AHF’s mission.
Our proprietary platform is designed to automate and optimize the tracking and collections of medical liens, or Letters of Protection (LOP) balances. Today, we are the largest SaaS-based, AI-enhanced, third-party servicing platform for litigated claims/LOPs in the country. We collect on average 9% more than in-house solutions or traditional medical funding.

Introducing our new team members
We are excited to welcome the following new team members from AHF:
- Eliezer Nerenberg – VP of Corporate Development at Gain
Eliezer Nerenberg’s background is in business development and sales, beginning in 2005 with MetLife Insurance Company, where he sold insurance and financial products but was quickly promoted to Agency Sales Manager, running a team of 20 agents in the 2nd biggest Metlife office in the country. This experience in the life settlement and premium financing realm ultimately led to Eliezer’s role in the establishment of AHF, which has now joined forces with Gain. Eliezer resides in south Florida with his beautiful wife and children. He strives for perfection in every aspect of his life and motivates the people around him. As a Detroit native, he is very passionate about his local home town sport teams, including Michigan football!
- Lewis Lurie – VP of Operations at Gain
Lewis Lurie brings more than 20 years of entrepreneurial experience to the company and is well versed in software systems and marketing. Lewis was the founder of American Horizon Financial, which has now joined forces with Gain. Before AHF, Lewis was the founder and CEO of the company that created the medical community www.eHealthforum.com. In 2010, eHealthforum.com was the third largest medical community on the internet with online traffic of over 10 million unique visitors each month. In 2010, he sold eHealthforum to Internet Brands. Lewis’s principles are trust, integrity, and diligence to ensure superior customer satisfaction.
- Yossi Feldman – Director of Corporate Development at Gain
Mr. Feldman is a Business Development Executive that brings a decade of experience in specialty finance to Gain. Prior to joining Gain, Yossi was the VP of Business Development for AHF, leading the Mountain West, Midwest and Southern markets. His efforts with the company will be focused on creative problem solving, the maintenance of client relationships, and the growth and development of the business.
Mr. Feldman currently resides with his wife and two kids in New York. They enjoy traveling and have visited destinations together in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
- Urvashi Hall – Operations Manager at Gain
Urvashi Hall joins Gain as our newest Operations Manager, which was also her role at American Horizon Financial. Prior to AHF, Urvashi has worked in the medical field for 7 years, and has managed multiple projects, teams and companies. Urvashi is passionate about everything she does and enjoys problem solving. Urvashi is dedicated to her role and strives to assist AHF’s growth.
- Bernardo Tigreros Medina – Risk Manager at Gain
Bernardo was born and raised in Palmira, Colombia. He is a lawyer with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Santiago De Cali. He has two years of experience in Colombian civil law and more than one year in accident and injury law in the state of Florida. His hobbies include listening to music, exercising, and enjoying different types of cuisines and outdoor adventures.
- Luciana Ungaro – Risk Manager at Gain
Originally from Peru, Luciana has been living in South Florida since 2007. She brings multiple years of experience in personal injury at a medical and legal level alike to Gain. She loves to be challenged in her role and strives to give 110% to every project and endeavor she takes on. During her free time, Luciana enjoys spending time outdoors with her beloved pitbulls and going on motorcycle rides.
- Tzvia Evans – AR/AP Clerk and Office Manager at Gain
Tzvia Evans joined American Horizon Financial in 2013 as the office administrator, now she joins Gain as an AR/AP Clerk and Office Manager. Her background is in patient care management, which began in 2008 working in a dental office. She is dedicated to her role in the company and enjoys a challenge. She was raised in Coral Springs, Florida and currently resides there.
